The Cathedral Jewel Box (in silver, ciaroite and rubies) designed and handmade by Pestelli Creazioni.

This beautiful Russian Cyaroite jewel box, commissioned by one of our customers, is an extremely complex work for its creative and technical difficulty. The inspiration comes from the finely crafted architectural geometries of the Florentine church of Orsanmichele. Tommaso Pestelli created an intriguing game of three-dimensionality, depth and lightness with the silver structure with double arches.
In contrast to the regularity of the architectural element is the rampant dragon, guardian and protector of the casket, clinging to the side of the structure with its powerful legs and snaking tail.
The knob of the casket is represented as an architectural element now in ruins. From the collapsed structures and arches come out snakes, now masters of the interior of the chest. If we open the casket we find on one side a nest of snakes trying to get out, they have not only an aesthetic function but also a practical one of rings and necklaces holder.
This is the first work in which our son Paul has participated with the graphic realization of the project.
