Mistletoe ring (gold – opal – brilliants) designed and handmade by Pestelli Creazioni.
The opal, unique among the gems, has an exceptional game of colors: red, yellow, green, blue, light blue and purple can appear in a single gem. Indian mythology considered the opal a transformation of the Rainbow Goddess. Pliny considered it the most beautiful precious stone after the emerald. The opal is iridescent because of its non-crystalline structure: it is an ordered set of small silica spheres with inclusions of water and gas. Hence the phenomenon of refraction: they are colored flashes of pure light.
