Description
Florin cufflinks (in golden silver) designed and handcrafted by Pestelli Creazioni.
The florin was the coin of Florence, minted for the first time in 1252. The name derives from the lily flower represented on the coin together with the inscription Florentia. In the thirteenth century and up to the Renaissance, the Florin, thanks to the growing economic power of Florence, became the preferred trading currency in Europe. It is an ancient Florentine tradition to give a florin as a sign of luck and happiness with the wish: “A florin today for a thousand florins tomorrow”.
