The Oceanic Jasper, also called Stone of Atlantis or Orbicular Jasper for the unique circular designs produced by Rhyolite spheres contained in it, has a peculiar history. Since 1997 rare stones prospectors have been looking for it, since it was reported on an important mineralogical encyclopedia, but it was finally found only in 2000 in a single point of the northwestern coast of Madagascar, where it can be extracted only when it is low tyde. Furthermore, according to legend, it is connected to the ancient and mysterious city of Atlantis and is therefore considered the guardian of mystical knowledge. Oceanic Jasper is a rare magnificent stone and belongs to the Jasper family, an opaque variety of Quartz highly appreciated for its unusual colors.
