Serpentine is a mineral with various shades of green. It has a rather scaly appearance when in its raw form and it is for this reason that it has been given the name “serpentine”. It has been used for healing purposes for several centuries and already in pre-Roman times serpentine amulets were quite common as they thought it kept diseases and spells away. Clearly there was a lot of superstition in all of this, but if you want to give a nice gift to someone who feels particularly attacked by “bad luck”, then go for this stone!
