Measurements: 3,1 x 3,3 cm
This elegant set of cufflinks is entirely handmade in sterling silver and reproduces the famous air duel of the World War II between an English Spitfire and a German Stukas (or Junkers Ju 87) aircrafts.
The Supermarine Spitfire is a British single-seat fighter aircraft that was used by the Royal Air Force and other Allied countries before, during, and after World War II. It was one of the planes-symbol of the Second World War, above all for its effective and decisive contribution to the victorious English resistance to the German aggression, during the Battle of England and the years of the conflict. Instead the Junkers Ju 87 or Stuka (from Sturzkampfflugzeug, “dive bomber”) was a German dive bomber and ground-attack aircraft. The aircraft was easily recognisable by its inverted gull wings and fixed spatted undercarriage. Mainly used by the Luftwaffe, the Stuka was one of the most effective bombers of the Second World War, and certainly the most touted aircraft of the entire conflict. It is considered a milestone in the history of military aviation.
